BJP challenged Rahul Gandhi to publicly disclose the names of the alleged fake voters to substantiate his claims of 'vote theft' and uphold his credibility.
As the political uproar over Rahul Gandhi’s allegations of voter list manipulation intensifies, the BJP on Sunday challenged him to submit the names of ineligible voters as the Congress leader truly values his own credibility.
Gandhi on Thursday claimed a "huge criminal fraud" in polls through "collusion" between the BJP and the Election Commission, citing an analysis of voter rolls in a constituency in Karnataka last year.
Countering the claims, BJP leader Amit Malavya said, "If Rahul Gandhi values his own credibility, he must, under Declaration/Oath, submit the names of the ineligible electors he claims are on the voter list, as mandated by Rule 20(3)(b) of the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960."
"Failure to do so will make it abundantly clear that he has no real case, and was merely engaging in political theatre — aimed at distorting facts, sowing doubt in the public mind, and maligning a constitutional body entrusted with ensuring free and fair elections. Such conduct is reckless and deeply damaging to our democracy," he added.
