The Hindu, in association with Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL), and co-presented by the Tamil Nadu Green Climate Company (TNGCC), will host the ‘Sustainability Summit 2025’ on Friday, November 7, from 10 a.m. onwards, in Chennai.

The summit aims to bring together leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to foster discussions on environmental responsibility, green innovation, and collaborative policies for a sustainable India.

The summit will see the participation of H. Shankar, Managing Director, CPCL; Supriya Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary, Environment, Climate Change and Forests; and Srivats Ram, former chairman, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Tamil Nadu, and managing director, Wheels India.

The day-long event will feature seven sessions, including fireside chats and panel discussions on a range of sustainability themes. These include CPCL’s sustainability journey in balancing growth and sustainability, and water conservation strategies.

The event also features a session exploring Tamil Nadu’s initiatives on climate action and stewardship. Other sessions will touch upon energy transition in India, policy and governance in climate action, clean technology, and the role of finance in sustainable growth.

Highlighting CPCL’s sustainability milestones, Mr. Shankar said that sustainability has been central to the company’s operations for decades. “Looking ahead, we are advancing toward Net Zero operational emissions by 2046 through cleaner fuels, carbon capture, and green product development,” he said.

Tamil Nadu has long believed that policy and action must go hand in hand, Ms. Sahu said. “No climate transition can succeed without an informed and engaged public. Building climate literacy and enabling a people-led movement for sustainability is essential. Platforms like The Hindu Sustainability Summit play a crucial role in deepening public understanding, spotlighting innovation, and amplifying ground-level action,” she said.

Event partners include Navin’s as sustainability partner, NLC India Limited as associate partner, Larsen & Toubro as green partner, Puthiya Thalaimurai as TV partner, the CII as industry partner, and the Sustainable Energy and Environment Council as knowledge partner.

Participation in the summit is by invitation only. For sponsorship queries, contact 98419 62820 or 97109 14914.
