Sunabeda Municipality chief joins BJP

Koraput: Sunabeda Municipality chairperson Rajendra Kumar Patra joined the BJP at a ceremony held at the party’s state headquarters in Bhubaneswar on Monday.According to a party release, Patra resigned from the BJD before joining BJP.

Several leaders and councillors from the BJD and Congress, along with hundreds of their supporters, also joined the BJP on the day.In addition, a number of panchayat representatives from Laxmipur assembly constituency, who were previously associated with the BJD and Congress, joined the BJP.Welcoming the new members, BJP state president Manmohan Samal said BJP is the largest political party in the world and, with BJP and NDA govts in 21 states, it has earned widespread public support across the country, from MPs and MLAs to grass-roots representatives.The induction of leaders and workers from Sunabeda Municipality and Laxmipur constituency has strengthened the party organisation in Koraput district. “The party is committed to working collectively to address peoples basic issues and to move forward towards building a developed state and nation,” said Samal.
