Speaking out once again on rumours surrounding Govinda’s alleged affair, Sunita Ahuja has said that the past year took a heavy emotional toll on her and their family. In a fresh interview, the actor’s wife addressed the controversy that has followed them for over a year, reiterating that hearing such allegations at this stage of life was deeply distressing despite her repeated attempts to brush aside divorce speculation.Speaking to Miss Malini, Sunita described 2025 as an emotionally draining year for her.“2025 was a very disaster for me because usme sab family life disturbance tha. Main bhi kuchh sunn rahi thi about Govinda. I was not happy ki main kya kya sun rahi thi naa inke baare mein,” she said. (2025 was a complete disaster for me because our family life was disturbed. I was also hearing things about Govinda, and I was not happy with what I was hearing about him.)She added, “I always say ki har cheez ka ek age hota hai karne ka. And at 63 yeh sab sunna is not good. Jab bachhe bade bade ho jaate hain. But it was very bad.” (I always say that everything has an age. Hearing all this at 63 is not good, especially when your children are grown up.)Sunita also said she hopes that 2026 brings better sense and clarity to Govinda.
‘Rumours disturb children,’ says Sunita
Opening up about the impact of the affair rumours on their children—daughter Tina Ahuja and son Yashvardhan Ahuja—Sunita said the situation deeply affected the family.
“Dekho mere bachhe bade bade ho gaye naa, maine humesha yahi bola hai ki see they get disturbed. And I always say that yeh tumhaari unmar nahi hai,” she said. (My children are grown up now, and I have always said that they do get disturbed. I keep saying this is not your age for such things.)Sunita then made strong remarks about younger women entering the industry.“Par kya hota hai naa aaj kal ki jo ladkiyan aati hai naa struggle karne ke liye, they need a sugar daddy, jo unka kharcha chalaye. Shakal 2 kaudi ka hai, heroine banna hai. Toh tum expect kya karte ho?” she said. (Nowadays, girls who come to struggle need a sugar daddy to fund their expenses. They don’t have the looks but want to be heroines—what do you expect then?)She further alleged, “Fir kya, phasa lenge, phir blackmail karenge.
Toh aisi ladkiyan bohot aati hai.” (They trap men and then blackmail them. There are many such girls.)Turning her focus back to Govinda, Sunita said, “But then tum thodi bewakoof hai, tum 63 ka ho gaya hai. Tumhaari ek achhi family hai, sundar biwi hai, do bachhe hain bade bade.” (But then you are foolish—you are 63. You have a good family, a beautiful wife and two grown-up children.)She added, “You can't do all this at the age of 63. Tune jawani mein kiya, it's fine.
Jawani mein hum bhi galtiyan karte hain, but not this age.” (You can’t do all this at 63. If you did mistakes in your youth, it’s understandable—we all do—but not at this age.)Urging him to focus on family responsibilities, Sunita said, “You have to get Tina married, Yash ki career hai, isme focus karo naa.” (You have to get Tina married and focus on Yash’s career.)She also made it clear where she stands if the rumours turn out to be true.
“If I get a confirmation, main Govinda ko nahi maaf karungi.” (If I get confirmation, I will not forgive Govinda.)
‘I’m Done Hiding It’ Sunita Ahuja Speaks Her Heart on Life with Govinda
‘Govinda knows my anger,’ Sunita’s warning
When the interviewer called her strong for prioritising her family, Sunita responded with a fiery remark.“Jab aisi aurat ka dimag satakta hai naa, toh main Nepal ki hun, ek kukri nikaal dungi naa toh sabki haalat kharab ho jaayegi,” she said. (When a woman like me loses her temper, I’m from Nepal—I’ll take out a kukri and everyone will be in trouble.)Explaining further, she added, “Kukri is like, talwar nahi hota hai, woh humari Nepali mein yahan lagate hain (gesturing to the side of the waist), chaku. And Govinda knows it, ki mera gussa kahan se kahan chala jaate hai.” (A kukri is not a sword—it’s a knife worn at the waist. And Govinda knows how far my anger can go.)She concluded with a warning for her husband, saying, “Woh bhugat chuka hai sab. Isliye bolti hun, satark ho jaa beta abhi bhi.” (He has already faced it all. That’s why I say—be careful even now.)
Govinda and Sunita Ahuja have been married for 38 years. Despite repeated rumours of separation and infidelity, Sunita has consistently stated that while they may live separately, the family remains intact—for now.
