Dating has always been a taboo topic in the world of being a K-pop idol. Many are restricted from having relationships in order tonot let them get distracted, while others choose not to avoid public backlash.

Shindong from Super Junior, however, took p the topic recently and shared all about the kinds of tactics idols use in order to see each other and not get caught.Read to know more about what Shindong had to say.


Shindong opens up about idols dating

While appearing on a recent episode on YouTuber JM’s channel, the idol delved into the world of dating and how it differs drastically for an idol as compared to a common person. He talked about how all it takes is effort and the will to date in the industry.

Adding on to this, he shared, “Whether you have opportunities or not, those who want to date will, and those who can’t, won’t. People who know how to take care of their own plate will always do well”.He also added his own experience, he shared that if he had been determined about finding a partner, he would’ve tried to get numbers from the people he liked at broadcasts. He also would have tried to reach out to people and fellow celebrities he met during his time as an idol; however, since it was not something he took seriously, he never did any of those things.

The idol shares tips and tricks about how idols manage dating under restrictions

While talking about the tactics that people often used in the idol world to date, Shindong shared that confidence plays a major role in this, as you would have to approach people in order to date. He added, “From what I’ve seen, people who are confident exchange contact information and end up dating. I don’t think I have a single friend who’s a lifelong single - most of them are confident. Maybe it’s because they’re celebrities that they have that confidence”.While talking about himself, he also mentioned that while he does get approached and receives messages, he does not pay heed to them, as he is not interested in that.


Is Shindong planning to get married?

The idol also shared his thoughts on marriage plans. In his words, the Super Junior expressed his wish to get married by the age of 48 but also presented the conflicting thought that he also wants a baby.He also added that he wants to start planning and considering things, as many of his friends and close ones have shared how, with age, it becomes harder and harder to have a child of your own.
