‘Super Six’ promises a big hit with people, says Excise Minister

Excise and Mines Minister Kollu Ravindra on Friday reiterated that the coalition government led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had emerged as a ‘super hit’ in delivering its ‘Super Six’ election promises, earning appreciation from people across all sections of society.

Addressing a press conference after reviewing arrangements for the Chief Minister’s visit to Anantapur on September 10, Mr. Ravindra said the government had fulfilled all major promises made during the 2024 general elections within its first year in office.

He criticised the previous Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy government, alleging that it had pushed the State into several years of backwardness by hurting key sectors such as agriculture and industry.

The Minister highlighted a series of initiatives, including pensions of ₹4,000 for the elderly, ₹6,000 for the differently-abled, and ₹15,000 for bedridden patients, as well as the distribution of two crore free LPG cylinders under the Deepam scheme. He also mentioned financial assistance for mothers under the Thalliki Vandhanam programme, support for 67 lakh farmers through Annadata Sukhibhava, free bus travel for women, recruitment of 16,000 teachers under the Mega DSC, free supply of sand for house construction, and 10 per cent reservation for weaker sections in the allotment of liquor shops.

Mr. Ravindra said Anna Canteens had been widely appreciated by the poor. Referring to irrigation, he noted that with Krishna waters being brought to Rayalaseema through the Handri Neeva Sujala Sravanthi project, the region’s irrigation landscape was poised for a major transformation.

He further stated that within just one year of the coalition government taking charge, unprecedented investments were beginning to flow into Andhra Pradesh. The Chief Minister’s public meeting scheduled for September 10, he added, would showcase these achievements.
