He began his message by saying he was saddened by the demise of “Saroja Devi Amma,” using the affectionate Tamil term “Amma” (mother), showing the personal bond and emotional connection he felt towards her.

In his tribute, Suriya recalled how Saroja Devi had always shown immense affection to him and his family.

He wrote, “Saddened by the demise of Saroja Devi Amma. She always showered me & my family with a lot of love." Further, he spoke about working with her, saying, “She was a child at heart, and we have our fond memories working with her for Aadhavan. A lot of respect for her legacy & stature" highlighting her kind and caring nature.

This statement reflects that their relationship was more than just professional; she treated him and his loved ones with warmth and motherly love.

Suriya also described her as “a child at heart.” With these words, he remembered her joyful and innocent nature, saying that even in her old age, she had a playful and lively spirit. Saroja Devi started her film career at the young age of 17 with the Kannada film ‘Mahakavi Kalidasa’ in 1955. Her performance in that film was so impressive that she received a National Award. She continued to give several successful performances in Kannada cinema. Later in 1958, after the huge success of ‘Nadodi Mannan’, where she acted with M.G. Ramachandran (MGR), she became a popular face in Tamil cinema too.
