Deo is undergoing a transformative journey with a focus on holistic development. As the Surya Mahotsav approaches, initiatives for better infrastructure and aesthetic enhancements are in full swing. Plans for establishing a medical college are moving forward, with resolution of land matters and the Chief Minister's anticipated visit for the foundation stone ceremony.
Aurangabad: Incharge minister of Aurangabad, Santosh Kumar Suman, on Sunday said all possible efforts were being made for the overall development of the Deo region as a three-day Surya Mahotsav commenced at Deo on the occasion of “Achala Saptami” under the joint aegis of the tourism department and the district administration.The festival was inaugurated by Santosh Kumar Suman along with Kutumba MLA Lalan Ram, Aurangabad MLA Trivikram Narayan Singh, Obra MLA Prakash Chandra, Rafiganj MLA Pramod Kumar Singh, district magistrate Abhilasha Sharma, superintendent of police Ambrish Rahul, additional district magistrate Anugrah Narayan Singh, sub-divisional magistrate Santan Kumar Singh, Deo Nagar Panchayat chairman Pintu Sahil and vice-chairman Golu Kumar by lighting the ceremonial lamp.Addressing the gathering, the minister said recommendations would be made for improved lighting arrangements and beautification of the Deo area. He said land-related issues that had delayed the construction of the Aurangabad Medical College would be resolved soon and that a medical college would be established on the soil of Deo.He added that during the Samriddhi Yatra, the chief minister would visit Aurangabad and lay the foundation stone of the medical college.
The minister also spoke about the development of a Deo circuit, the expansion of facilities at Umga and other religious sites, and reiterated the demand for an airport in Aurangabad.Kutumba MLA Lalan Ram said the construction of a medical college at Deo was certain and assured that efforts would be made at every level to ensure its completion. He also demanded that Aurangabad district be renamed Deo and sought the linking of Kalpavriksha Dham, located in Kutumba block, with the tourism department.Aurangabad MLA Trivikram Narayan Singh said Deo would emerge as a major centre of development in Bihar. He said the file related to the medical college had reached the health department and that the trust board had already issued a no-objection certificate, clearing major hurdles.Rafiganj MLA Pramod Kumar Singh said Deo was the pride of the district and asserted that the medical college would definitely be built there. Obra MLA Prakash Chandra said Deo symbolised Bihar’s history and social harmony.The event witnessed the presence of senior officials, public representatives and devotees, marking an enthusiastic beginning to the three-day festival.
