Sydney Sweeney, the talented ‘Euphoria’ star, is stepping into a new chapter of her career with her new film ‘Christy’. While the actress has been busy promoting the project, her name made headlines for her controversial jeans ad.
In the ad many found the wordplay on “good jeans” and “good genes” to be insensitive racially towards people.
Her response to the controversy
In her recent conversation with The Guardian, Sweeney addressed the intense reaction surrounding the campaign. Rather than defending or condemning the brand, she spoke about the challenges of being constantly judged through others’ perspectives. She said “I think what’s interesting is I’m always myself.
I’m always just me. But it’s what other people put on me that’s uncontrollable,” she said.Explaining her stance further, she added, “Like you’re going to write this article… Then people will read it and have their own perception. So I try and be as much of me as possible, but it’s always through other people’s lenses.”
Her new project
