Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Tuesday (November 11, 2025) launched a series of welfare and infrastructure initiatives from the Secretariat in Chennai, including new pink patrol vehicles for women’s safety, housing for priests and temple staff, a road overbridge, appointment orders of government job recruits, and financial aid for artistes.

He flagged off a fleet of 80 pink patrol vehicles launched at a cost of ₹12 crore, aimed to strengthen women’s safety in urban areas. The new vehicles will be used for patrolling in cities such as Tambaram, Avadi, Salem, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Tiruchi, Tirunelveli, and Madurai, with a special focus on ensuring the safety of women, said an official press release.

Mr. Stalin also handed over housing allotment orders to 16 priests and 31 temple staff across six temples in Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kanniyakumari, and Dharmapuri districts. The houses were constructed by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department at a cost of ₹10.65 crore.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated a road overbridge constructed by the Highways Department at a cost of ₹61.74 crore in Virudhunagar district, replacing a railway level crossing, and handed over appointment orders to 98 Junior Draughting Officers, 14 Assistants, and 8 Audit Assistants selected through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC).

Mr. Stalin also distributed financial assistance of ₹85 lakh to 525 artistes through the Tamil Nadu Iyal Isai Nataka Mandram. The beneficiaries included 10 Kalaimamani awardees in poor circumstances who received ₹1 lakh each, five authors who were given ₹2 lakh each to publish Tamil books on rare traditional arts, five drama artistes and five dance artistes who received ₹1.5 lakh each to produce and stage new Tamil plays and dance dramas respectively, and 500 folk artistes who were given ₹10,000 each to purchase musical instruments and performance costumes.
