T.N. gets new Sainik School in Namakkal district

The Sainik School Society under the Union Ministry of Defence has included one more school in Tamil Nadu for the consideration of candidates appearing in the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2026. SRRI SPK Public Senior Secondary School in Namakkal district has joined the list of schools from the State for consideration of the candidates, a notification from the society said.

Besides the Sainik School in Amaravathinagar in Tiruppur district, Vallaba Vidyalaya in Madurai, Kailash Maansarovar School in Salem, and Jayanthi Public Senior Secondary School in Tiruppur were among the list of “approved new Sainik Schools” located in Tamil Nadu, according to the information bulletin on the AISSEE 2026, issued by the National Testing Agency and the society on October 10.

As for reservation in the 33 Sainik Schools across the country, 67% of the seats are reserved for permanent residents of the State/Union Territory where the Sainik School is located and 33% are for candidates from other States/Union Territories. However, the reservation of seats in Sainik Schools is subject to the outcome of an appeal filed in the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court, according to the bulletin.
