Jude Bellingham snatched the opportunity to take a dig at fellow young sensation and La Liga rival Lamine Yamal, just like he did for Real Madrid’s winner against Barcelona in Sunday’s El Clásico at Santiago Bernabéu. In an Instagram post of photos from the fiery match, leading with his trademark celebration, the English midfielder wrote, “Talk is cheap. HALA MADRID SIEMPRE!!!🤍 (Go Madrid, always)".

It doesn’t take a genius to understand who it was targeted at. Yamal had riled up Madrid supporters with a cheeky jibe hours before the game started. During a Kings League stream with Ibai Llanos, the 18-year-old was asked if a team reminded him of Real Madrid, to which he quipped, “Yes, of course, they steal, they complain."

Yamal was also the primary target when the Bernabéu descended into chaos moments after the home side’s win was secured. Players from both sides clashed in a heated post-match brawl.

His remark had clearly lingered as, after the final whistle, defender Dani Carvajal confronted Yamal at midfield, sparking a tense altercation that Marcus Rashford and Eduardo Camavinga tried to defuse.

As Yamal retreated toward the tunnel, Thibaut Courtois stormed over and shoved him, escalating tensions further. Security personnel rushed in to separate the players, but not before Vinícius Júnior, substituted earlier, charged toward Yamal from the dugout, only to be restrained by teammates.

Bellingham netted Madrid’s second goal and the eventual winner, having already set up the first for Kylian Mbappe. Coach Xabi Alonso was all praise for him afterwards.

“We saw it against Juventus, and today, and against Getafe (last weekend), in the last week he’s had three very good games," Alonso told reporters “At first you need a bit of time, some minutes to get in gear, and it’s gone even better than we expected after the last international break, when he was here and not with the national team. Jude is a player who is about feelings, on communicating and connecting, and that’s why he has played some very good matches."
