The Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi (KMDK) on Friday (March 13, 2026) sealed a seat-sharing deal with the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) for the upcoming Assembly election. The party will contest in two Assembly constituencies on the DMK’s ‘Rising Sun’ symbol.

The seat-sharing agreement was signed between DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and KMDK general secretary E.R. Eswaran at Anna Arivalayam, the DMK headquarters in Chennai. During the 2021 Assembly election, the KMDK contested in three seats on the DMK ‘Rising Sun’ symbol, of which only Mr. Eswaran won from Tiruchengode.
