Ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections, Tamil Nadu BJP MLA Vanathi Srinivasan hinted that strong leaders could join the NDA alliance, sparking speculation about actor-politician Vijay’s party, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), coming on board.

Speaking on the matter, she said, “NDA alliance will become much stronger. Strong people are going to come along, so nothing will happen. You can consider whomever to be that strong person.”

Her remarks came days after AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) claimed that preparations for the NDA alliance were already underway, indirectly hinting at Vijay’s potential entry. During his campaign, he pointed to flags being waved, saying the “Pillayar Suzhi” (initiation) had been done and called it the “sound of revolution.”

Addressing DMK chief MK Stalin, he added, “This sound will make you deaf.”

Meanwhile, the DMK released a cartoon depicting EPS and TVK as slaves carrying Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a throne, racing towards the elections, with Vijay’s face not shown directly.

However, TVK had dismissed any claims of an NDA alliance, saying those waving TVK flags were not party members but AIADMK supporters.
