Harur (R) Assembly constituency will see a two-cornered contest, but one that would entail a tough fight for the DMK for a slew of reasons.

The constituency had consistently returned massive vote differences propelling the DMK’s Lok Sabha candidates to their win, both in 2019 and 2024. Yet, people of Harur choose differently during the Assembly elections, consciously choosing to part ways with the DMK as the winning margins testify. The AIADMK has won the seat for three consecutive terms in 2016, 2019 by-elections, and 2021.
