Tamil Nadu government announces holiday on October 21

The Tamil Nadu government has declared a holiday on October 21 for all government offices, schools, colleges, and public sector undertakings across the State.

Since the Deepavali festival falls on October 20, the State government has taken the decision considering the convenience of students, teachers, government employees, and staff working in public sector institutions to travel to their hometowns and return after the festival. To compensate for the holiday, October 25 (Saturday), has been declared a working day, an official press release said.
