Teacher aspirants protest in Patna on Friday

Patna: Nine days after a similar protest, BPSC TRE 4 aspirants took to the streets again in Patna on Friday, demanding an increase in vacancies for the TRE 4 examination.The aspirants, who gathered at Patna College, had planned to march towards the Chief Minister's residence to stage a gherao but were stopped by the administration near JP roundabout at Gandhi Maidan.Carrying banners and national flags, the candidates protested for their demand despite the rain. They demanded that advertisements for 1.2 lakh vacancies for BPSC TRE 4 be released before the model code of conduct comes into force. The candidates also called for a one-candidate-one-result policy.“The chief minister should fulfill the promise he made to us. We protested last time but no action had been taken by the govt.

Therefore, we are protesting today. After the model code of conduct comes into force, no advertisements can be released,” Dileep Kumar, who was leading the protest, said.Education minister Sunil Kumar had previously announced that the TRE 4 will be conducted from December 16 to 19.According to Gandhi Maidan SHO Akhilesh Kumar Mishra, the protest was dispersed peacefully without the use of force. “No force was used by the police.

A delegation of five was sent to meet the concerned officer. The protesters were then dispersed peacefully,” he said.“We met the deputy director of secondary education and were assured that the roster will be prepared within five days and vacancies will be released after that,” Dileep who was part of the delegation said.An official from the department confirmed that the grievances of the aspirants have been noted. "The grievances of the candidates have been taken and will be considered. Every effort will be made to meet their grievances.”The aspirants earlier protested on September 9. Water canons and batons were used by the administration.
