A Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT) working at the Tribal Welfare Primary School (TWPS) in Sukudpally village in Jainoor mandal of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district was suspended on charges of attending to duty in an inebriated condition a few days ago.
The action follows complaints lodged by parents of several students of the TWPS, located on the school complex of Ashram High School for girls, against the errant teacher with the authorities concerned, official sources said.
Deputy Director of Tribal Welfare Department R. Ramadevi on Wednesday issued orders placing the SGT under suspension with immediate effect.
Taking a serious view of the incident, the district authorities are mulling disciplinary action against the errant SGT.
Meanwhile, the student wings of various Adivasi organisations sought deterrent action against the errant teacher to prevent recurrence of such incidents.
