Teachers are architects of society, says Chittoor Collector

Highlighting that a nation’s future is shaped within classrooms, District Collector Sumit Kumar on Friday said that teachers are not merely professionals but true architects of society. Speaking at the Teachers’ Day celebrations at the ZP office here, he noted that every teacher has the capacity—and responsibility—to transform lives. He encouraged teachers to adopt underprivileged children and guide them towards excellence.

“Even a single teacher can nurture and transform the lives of more than a thousand students, helping them pursue diverse professional careers and achieve high positions in life. Beyond academics, teachers should instil discipline, values, and social responsibility in young minds,” Mr. Kumar said.

During the celebrations, 70 teachers from across Chittoor district were felicitated in recognition of their service. The Collector also emphasised the importance of protecting students from negative influences such as drug abuse and excessive screen time. “These challenges can be effectively addressed through close coordination between teachers and parents,” he added.

Puthalapattu MLA K. Murali Mohan, Chittoor Mayor C. Amuda, District Educational Officer Varalakshmi, senior officials from various departments, students, and parents attended the event.
