Teachers’ role in shaping careers of students important: CUSB VC

Patna: Vice-chancellor of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB), Kameshwar Nath Singh, on Sunday emphasised the important role of education in individual’s growth as well as nation-building.Delivering the valedictory address at the conclusion of a three-day workshop organised by the CUSB in collaboration with IGNOU, Patna region, Singh reaffirmed the university’s commitment to impart quality education for ensuring holistic development of the students. He said teachers are the torch-bearers of the society and their performance in classrooms shape the careers of students. Integrity, empathy, and commitment are indispensable qualities of an effective teacher, he said, adding that value-based education was the need of the hour for the entire country.Appreciating the organisation and academic design of the workshop, the VC observed that such initiatives play a crucial role in equipping teachers with both theoretical understanding and practical competencies required to address the evolving needs of the education system.He also gave away certificates to all the successful participants. At the outset, workshop director Ravi Kant welcomed the participants.
