Technology-driven investigations, prevention-focused policing, enhanced women’s safety, and improved coordination among specialised units were among the key priorities discussed during a comprehensive review meeting with the Central Crime Station (CCS), Cyber Crimes, and Women Safety Wings of Hyderabad police by the Additional Commissioner of Police (Crimes) M. Srinivas.
During the meeting, the official stressed the need for a fair and firm approach in investigations, accurate documentation of evidence, and the use of forensic and digital tools to strengthen prosecutions.
Mr. Srinivas underlined that the focus of the three specialised wings would be to understand crime patterns and address offences at their roots. He urged officers to stay updated with emerging technologies used by offenders, particularly in white-collar and cybercrime cases, and to adopt citizen-centric policing that builds public trust.
He directed the cyber crimes wing to intensify awareness campaigns against fake online trading and investment platforms that deceive citizens through fraudulent apps and websites. Noting that senior citizens are increasingly targeted in digital scams, he announced plans for awareness programmes using short films and social media reels to promote digital safety among the elderly.
The official also emphasised coordinated efforts by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) and Juvenile Bureau to trace and repatriate missing children with the support of Child Welfare Committees. He instructed all officers to treat complainants with respect, register cases promptly, complete investigations without delay, and ensure charge sheets are filed swiftly, particularly in white-collar cases.
The meeting was attended by DCPs D. Kavitha (Cyber Crimes) and Dr. Lavanya (Women Safety Wing), Addl. DCP G. Manohar (CCS), Jt. Director Dr. N. Venkanna (Clues Teams), ACP Admin G. Venkateshwar Reddy, other ACPs, SHOs of the seven Women police stations, and staff from the fingerprint and technical units.
