Teen killed, friend injured as truck rams bike in Jeedimetla

A teenager was killed and another injured after a speeding truck rammed into their two-wheeler near Shapur Market in Jeedimetla on Sunday evening.

The 18-year-old victim Vinay Kumar worked at a private firm, was riding the vehicle. His friend, Vishnu Kumar, also 18 and a private employee, was riding pillion. “While taking the U-turn, a speeding truck hit them from the rear. Vinay was run over and died on the spot, while Vishnu sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital,” said Jeedimetla Inspector G. Mallesh. Police have registered a case and taken the truck driver, Rajkumar, into custody. Further investigation is underway.
