Teen stabs mother with a pair of scissors

A 14-year-old boy allegedly stabbed his mother with a pair of scissors in their house in Chidambaram after she asked him to study. The woman sustained injuries and was admitted to Cuddalore Government Medical College and Hospital in Chidambaram.

Police said the boy, a class IX student, was good in studies and consistently scored 80% to 90% marks. However, his mother scolded him often asking him to perform even better. On Wednesday evening, the juvenile, in a fit of rage, allegedly attacked his mother with a pair of scissors while she was sleeping in their house.

The boy later claimed that burglars had gained access into their home.

Investigations by the police revealed that the boy had attacked his mother. Based on a complaint lodged by the boy’s father, the Chidambaram Town Police have registered a case. Further investigations are on.
