Janshakti Janata Dal founder Tej Pratap Yadav and BJP MP Ravi Kishan were seen together at the Patna airport on Friday (November 7, 2025), raising eyebrows amid the Assembly election.
As they came out of the airport chatting amicably, they were mobbed by journalists who wondered whether the camaraderie was the sign of a new equation.
Mr. Tej Pratap, former RJD leader and son of party supremo Lalu Prasad, had until recently been a vehement critic of the BJP-RSS.
The two landed at the airport after a day of hectic campaigning. While Mr. Tej Pratap, who was expelled from the RJD by his father, was canvassing in Gaya, Mr. Kishan addressed rallies in East Champaran and West Champaran.
Approached by the waiting reporters, Mr. Tej Pratap said, “It is just that I am meeting Ravi Kishan for the first time. Of course, he and I are on the same page when it comes to our devotion to Lord Shiva.” To a pointed query as to whether he could side with the BJP, the Hasanpur MLA, who is trying his luck from the previous seat of Mahua, did not give a direct reply, but said, “I will be with anyone who removes unemployment.”
When asked whether “something [Tej Pratap’s induction into BJP] is possible”, the actor-turned-politician said, “Anything can happen. The BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi keep doors open for all devotees of Bholenath, who are devoted to selfless service.”
