The massive show of the Congress party on the theme “Samajika Nyaya Samarabheri Sabha” paved the way for the upcoming local body elections infusing enthusiasm among the village and mandal level leaders who attended in massive numbers.

The strong message delivered by both the AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy sent a signal that the Congress was not down, as claimed by the Opposition parties, but carried the vigour needed at a time when the ruling party is ready to face its biggest political test after assuming power in 2023.

The meeting was also a test to the calibre of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud under whom this was the first big stage programme involving cadre from the village to the AICC president.

“AICC president meeting the 30,000-odd village presidents of the party is the first of its kind in the party’s recent history and we could pull it off thanks to the efforts of all leaders at all levels,” Mr. Mahesh Goud said indicating that it showed the readiness of the party to go to the local body polls with confidence.

Giving responsibility to the recently appointed vice presidents and general secretaries as in-charges for various constituencies, Mr Mahesh Goud tested their leadership skills, which would be of immense help for the local body polls. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced at the meeting earlier that leaders treating the party posts with respect and pride would have more political opportunities.

Importantly, the event successfully carried the message of “Social Justice” to the masses, reaffirming the Congress party’s commitment to equity and inclusive governance. Mr. Goud said the party sent a strong message to the cadre and the people about its commitment to social justice. After the conduct of the caste survey, the expectations of people increased and also the confidence to deliver.

The fiery speeches of AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has reignited momentum within the Congress cadre and energised the party’s rank and file, Mr. Goud said recalling the feedback from the party cadre.

The party showed up in full strength with AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, and all the Ministers making it to the power-packed gathering.
