A 25-year-old youth from Telangana’s Rajanna Sircilla district, died by suicide after writing an emotional letter to Lord Shiva, questioning his fate.

The youth, Rohit, had completed his MSc and was studying for a B.Ed. His family said he always dreamed of becoming a doctor but could not achieve it, which left him very upset.

In the letter found after his death, Rohit wrote, “Shiva, with all your wisdom, is this how you wrote my fate? Would you have written the same for your own son? Are we not your children?”

“The pain of living is greater than the pain of death and I am tired of trying too many times. Maybe it is my destiny,” he wrote.

He also wrote that he was glad to have met many with good hearts, and pure souls, but it is “best to forget about the remaining people.”

Family members said he was often unhappy and struggled with how his life was going. The incident has once again raised concerns about mental health among young people.

Police have filed a case and are investigating.

In another incident, a 27-year-old woman was found dead in Hyderabad on June 20. Police suspect it to be a suicide but have begun a probe to confirm the cause.

The deceased, identified as Sushma, was a resident of Addagutta in Secunderabad and worked at the Diebold Nixdorf office in Hitech City. According to police, she went to work as usual on Thursday but did not return home that night.
