According to party sources, the PCC chief expressed displeasure over Mr. Reddy making public statements on the local body elections which has to be finalised in the Cabinet. Moreover, the government is still trying to overcome the legal issues related to enhancement of reservations to the Backward Classes.
Mr. Goud also felt the need for consultation within the party before issuing public statements on such key issues. Or else, such statements could lead to unnecessary confusion and controversy, and potentially affect the party’s image. The PCC president reportedly advised ministers to avoid stepping beyond their domain and to refrain from making political announcements without the party’s approval.
