The political war between Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) chief K Chandrashekar Rao intensified as both leaders traded sharp attacks during parallel tours in North Telangana, turning public meetings into platforms for a direct and aggressive showdown.

On Monday, Revanth Reddy visited Kaleshwaram Temple, where he laid the foundation stone for renovation works of the Muktheswara Alayam and later inspected the damaged Medigadda barrage. In the evening, he addressed a massive public meeting at Nastur Pally village in Bhupalpally district, releasing Rs 2,206 crore under the second phase of the Rythu Bharosa scheme.

At the same time, KCR addressed a large ‘Praja Ashirvada Sabha’ in Jagityal, where he welcomed former Congress leader Jeevan Reddy into the BRS and appointed him as the party’s general secretary, signalling a strategic political gain.

Speaking at the Nastur Pally meeting, Revanth Reddy mounted a strong offensive against the BRS and projected confidence in his government’s continuity.

“We will continue in power for at least two terms. BRS is in daydreams. We will ensure that BRS does not even get the status of opposition in the next elections. We defeated BRS in 2023 assembly elections, confined them to zero seats in Parliament elections and shown our strength in the Panchayat and municipal elections. This is my open challenge in front of party workers. If not, I will change my name," he declared.

Highlighting electoral and governance confidence, he further added, “Lakhs of Congress workers brought this government to power. Should it be removed after giving 70,000 jobs and implementing loan waivers?" questioning the credibility of opposition criticism.

Revanth Reddy emphasised that his government fulfilled its promise of waiving farm loans up to ₹2 lakh within a year and credited thousands of crores directly into farmers’ accounts. He reiterated that farmer welfare is central to Congress policy, not just a slogan.

He also listed welfare measures such as free bus travel for women, subsidised LPG cylinders, free electricity up to 200 units, and large-scale housing initiatives for the poor. The Chief Minister accused the previous BRS government of neglecting key welfare sectors while asserting that his administration is delivering both development and social security.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister launched a sharp attack on Jeevan Reddy for joining the BRS. He said, “Everyone knows Jeevan Reddy’s history. The party gave him multiple opportunities, yet he lost the Assembly elections and was still respected with an MLC post. He wanted a ministerial berth, and when that didn’t happen, he left the party and joined hands with our political enemies."

In Jagityal, KCR launched a strong counterattack, expressing full confidence in BRS returning to power while sharply criticising the Congress government.

“The Telangana movement was my responsibility, and I fulfilled it. Now I say with complete confidence that BRS will return to power with 100 per cent certainty," KCR asserted.

He accused the government of failing across sectors and said, “They promised hundreds of things but have not introduced even a single new scheme. Development has stalled in every sector," alleging that governance has weakened under Congress rule.

KCR also questioned the economic direction of the state, pointing to declining revenues, distress in agriculture, and lack of confidence in markets. He raised concerns over farmers’ issues, unemployment, pending student fee reimbursements, and delays in irrigation projects, accusing the ప్రభుత్వం of mismanagement.

A major flashpoint in the political battle is the controversial Hydra demolition drive. KCR strongly criticised the government, accusing it of targeting poor families in the name of development.

“What kind of Hydra is this? Why such aggression in demolishing poor people’s houses? They are demolishing thousands of houses of the poor in the name of Musi rejuvenation. We are not against it, but there should be a proper system," he said.

He further warned, “We will scrap HYDRA immediately after coming to power," promising to reverse the policy and protect vulnerable communities.

The latest developments highlight a deepening political confrontation in Telangana. While Revanth Reddy is projecting welfare delivery, governance achievements, and political dominance, KCR is building a counter-narrative around economic slowdown, governance failures, and controversial policies like Hydra demolitions.

With both leaders taking aggressive and uncompromising positions, the political war in Telangana continues to intensify, shaping the state’s discourse even in the absence of immediate elections.
