The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for 17 districts in Telangana, cautioning of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning at isolated places on Tuesday (June 10, 2025).

According to the forecast, the districts likely to be affected include Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal. The IMD has also forecast that isolated areas across all districts are very likely to receive gusty winds.

Hyderabad and its surrounding areas were forecast to be covered with clouds. The urban localities might receive light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by gusty winds, over the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, several parts of Telangana have been witnessing rainfall since Monday morning. Data from the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TGDPS) indicates showers in several areas. As of 2 p.m., Somoor in Kamareddy district received the highest recorded rainfall at 56 mm. This was followed by 35 mm in Minpoor (Medak), 33.3 mm in Bodagat (Medak), 29.3 mm in Shankarampet (Medak), 28.8 mm in Tekmal (Medak), 27 mm in Machapur (Kamareddy), 24.5 mm in Nagireddypet (Kamareddy), 17 mm in Palvatla (Sangareddy), and 15.5 mm in Marrigadda (Rajanna Sircilla).
