Telugu University to honour Tirupati writer

Suravaram Pratapa Reddy Telugu University in Hyderabad announced that they will honour Peta Srinivasulu Reddy, a retired professor of Telugu at Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) in Tirupati, for his work ‘Tirupati Kathalu’. The renowned writer on folklore is known by his pen name ‘Petasri’.

The award is being given to the writers of books published in the year 2023 under various categories and in different genres. Mr. Reddy’s ‘Tirupati Kathalu’ was selected under the prose category.

The ‘Sahithi Puraskar’ and a cash prize of ₹20,116 will be presented to Mr. Reddy at the N.T. Rama Rao Kalamandiram in the varsity’s Nampally campus on October 29. Interestingly, he is one among the two litterateurs from Andhra Pradesh to be selected for the award.

Mr. Reddy has received 20 national and international awards so far for his works and presented papers in international conferences held in 10 countries. He has authored 25 books and published more than 300 articles so far.
