Tennis Rankings update after US Open 2025: Spaniard sensation Carlos Alcaraz won his second Grand Slam of the year after beating arch-rival Italy’s Jannik Sinner to clinch the US Open 2025 title at Flushing Meadows in New York on Sunday, replacing his opponent at the top of the ATP rankings. Alcaraz became the new World No. 1 in the latest ATP Rankings released on Monday after beating Sinner 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 in the US Open 2025 finals for his sixth Major.

Alcaraz now has 11,540 live points in comparison to Sinner’s 10,780 points.

The biggest gainer in the world’s top 10 ranking in the latest list is Serbian great Novak Djokovic, who reached the semifinals before losing out to the eventual champion Alcaraz. The Serb gained 700 points after reaching the top four and jumping three spots in the rankings to fourth place behind Germany’s Alexander Zverev, who finds himself in the third spot.

Briton Jack Draper slipped to World No. 7 after withdrawing from the US Open in the second round due to an arm injury.

In WTA rankings, US Open 2025 women’s single’s finalist USA’s Amanda Anisimova jumped five places to reach World No. 4. The title winner Aryna Sabalenka, who beat Anisimova 6-3, 7-6(3) consolidated her position on the top with 11, 225 live points.

2024 US Open finalist Jessica Pegula slipped three spots, finding herself on the seventh place. China’s Qinwen Zheng also dropped two spots and slipped to World No. 9. Poland’s Iga Swiatek and USA’s Coco Gauff continue to retain their second and third spots in the world rankings.
