If you've recently bought a pack of Tesco's popular Stir Fry Tikka Chicken, then it would be better to check its label before indulging in the delicious treat claiming to give 'A Taste of India'The supermarket chain is recalling the Tesco Stir Fry Tikka Chicken because of a 'possible health risk'.
The product has undeclared egg and mustard in the sauce sachet, which have not been mentioned on the label.
This means the product's consumption could cause a possible health risk to those allergic to either of the two products.
What happens in case of an allergy?
Eggs are one of the most common foods to cause an allergy among children. Symptoms of an allergy might start a few hours after consuming a product containing eggs and can range from mild to serious.
According to Allergy UK, people can develop swelling in the lips, eyes and face due to allergens.In case of mustard, there can be mild symptoms such as pollen food syndrome, hives and vomiting.

The batch that should be avoided is the Tesco Stir Fry Tikka Chicken 650g meals with the 'use by' date of September 7, 2025.

The Food Standards Agency has advised customers to return the purchased product to any Tesco store for a full refund.
There is no requirement for a receipt. For further information you can visit the brand's website.Tesco has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations who will tell their members about the recall. This recall comes after the brand urgently recalled three pasta salads at the end of July over fears they could be contaminated with salmonella.
