Tesla CEO and X (formerly Twitter) owner Elon Musk has shared a tweet, publicly challenging the New York Times and Wall Street Journal to “take drug tests and publish the results”. The tech billionaire’s comments come as a response to recent reports alleging his excess Ketamine usage during Trump’s campaign last year. Earlier in the day, Musk shared urine drug test results on X, showing he tested ‘negative’ for drugs. He shared the results online writing ‘lol’ (laughing out loud). A user commented on the post saying “Would love to see NYTimes staff take the same test”.

The reply caught Musk’s attention who responded saying, “Great idea. I hereby challenge the NYT and WSJ to take drug tests and publish the results!”, further adding “They won’t, because those hypocrites are guilty as sin.”

An NYT report recently said that Musk travels with a daily pill box containing around 20 different medications with his “drug consumption went well beyond occasional use.” Quoting people familiar with the matter, the report stated that some of these pills include powerful stimulants and psychedelic substances, with some of them marked as Adderall, a commonly prescribed stimulant for ADHD. Similarly, a report by The Wall Street Journal last year said that the Space X CEO has a history of recreational drug use. The Times has also claimed that Musk had actually developed a far more serious habit.

Elon hits back at alleged drug use reports

In another post on X he shared today - June 17, Musk wrote “The sheer audacity of the WSJ/NYT lies is astonishing! WSJ claimed that I was being fired from Tesla and failed to include that the board flatly denied it!”

He previously said “I am NOT taking drugs! NYT was lying their ass off.” Admitting to past ketamine use “for dark mental holes,” Musk recently said he has been clean since.
