The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) has decided to appeal before a Division Bench of the High Court against the single judge order on Group-1 Mains exams.

The Commission, headed by Chairman Burra Venkatesham, held extensive discussions with the members on the judgment on Thursday, and decided to appeal before the Division Bench within a few days. The Commission members felt that it was in the interests of Group-I aspirants to go for the appeal.

Members apparently felt there was no violation of the norms on the valuation part, and accepting revaluation and re-examination would only cause further delay burdening the aspirants.

Meanwhile, the government is also of the view that BRS has destroyed the confidence of the aspirants by not taking up Group-I recruitment in the two terms and when it conducted after nine years in power, the paper was leaked.

On the other hand, the Congress government could conduct both Prelims and Mains within a year of coming to power, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is said to have told the officials. “The BRS is hell-bent on ensuring that the Group-I process should not be completed for their selfish interests.”

The government also feels that by stretching the Group-I recruitment with legal complications, the BRS also wants to stall the Group-2 and Group-3 selections, as many aspirants qualified across multiple exams.
