“That’s a tough thing to say”- Draymond Green fires back at Alperen Sengun after the latter’s playoff comments

Houston Rockets star Alperen Sengun recently made headlines for commenting on the tense 2025 playoff first-round matchup against the Golden State Warriors. He alleged that the G.S. Warriors were crying and reportedly got away with committing numerous fouls.

He further said that they're a very experienced team, and they fouled a lot. Now, following this, the Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green responded to the comment and alleged that the remark reportedly stemmed from the fact that they lost.

Houston Rockets star Alperen Sengun recently criticized the former champions for their alleged fouling and grumbling during the first-round meeting in the current Warriors-Rockets rivalry. His remarks were made during a podcast interview. However, shortly after that, he received a three-word reply from G.S. Warriors’ Draymond Green. In a Threads’ reply to a post highlighting Alperen Sengun's remarks, Draymond Green wrote:“Hold that L.”

After that shot, Draymond Green wasn't finished. Later, the four-time All-Star noted that a member of the losing team shouldn’t have said it. He then remarked: "That’s a tough thing to say after you lose… You have to win to stuff like that."

Alperen Sengun also said that throughout that series, there was a lot of whining about the refereeing, and the Warriors were mostly to blame. He continued:“They’re a super-experienced team… They also fouled a lot. Fouls just don’t get called much in the playoffs. You get what I’m saying? Yeah. They were whining the whole series. ‘That’s a foul!’ They’d complain. We couldn’t say anything, because that’s not what we do.”As per Yahoo Sports, the G.S. Warriors had 150 fouls called while the Houston Rockets only had 124. In Game 6 of the series, Golden State received 12 more foul calls than Houston, which was the largest disparity.

The fight was Alperen Sengun's breakthrough performance on the biggest platform of his career.
