Sending the chills down the spine, the horror wrapped a week of the legacy film on a strong note. ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites,’ starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson, had a slow start in its second week at the theatres after lingering through the screams and gasps at the theatres.

Yet, it came closer to the Rs 70 crore mark in India, beating the Bollywood films - Tiger Shroff's 'Baaghi 4' and Vivek Agnihotri's 'The Bengal Files.

According to the early estimates by Sacnilk, ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ added Rs. 2 crore on the eighth day in its box office collection, taking the total to Rs. 69 crore net. The horror film has seen a consistent pattern of decline in viewership after starting on an incredible note.

On the debut day of September 5, fans quickly joined in and reached a peak of Rs. 17.5 crore. However, the third day saw a significant drop of Rs. 15.5 crore, and Monday brought in the aching factor with the collection of Rs. 5 crores. Since then, the film has seen a regular decline in viewership, as well as social media hype.

'The Conjuring: Last Rites' occupancy

The film showed a modest pattern on the day, with an expected occupancy in the theatres. The morning shows had 9.23%, but the number surged as the day continued.

With the afternoon occupancy of 16.74%, the shows ended on a stronger note with 15.77% and 28.27% during evening and night shows, respectively.
