Vellore International School (VIS), in association with The Hindu, is gearing up for the grand finale of the second edition of the VIS Inter-School Football Tournament (U-15).
After weeks of thrilling knockout matches, the tournament featuring 64 participating teams from Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Vellore, Chengalpattu, and Puducherry will culminate on October 16, 2025, at the VIS campus in Kayar, near Kelambakkam.
The four standing teams are Vellore International School, Bhavans Rajaji Vidhyashram, St. Bedes Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School and Velammal Matriculation Hr. Sec. School, Mogappair, a press release said.
The semi-finals and finals will take place on the same day, with the chief guest for the occasion being Edwin Sydney Vanspaul, Indian professional footballer, who will grace the event and inspire the young players.
This year’s tournament has seen remarkable displays of skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship, as schools battled fiercely for the Championship title. Attractive cash prizes await the winners — ₹1,00,000 for the champions, ₹75,000 for the runners-up, and ₹50,000 for the second runners-up, it said.
