KARIMNAGAR
Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha has said there is a political vacuum in the State and the Telangana Jagruthi will announce its action plan after the completion of the ongoing ‘Jagruthi Janam Bata’ tour.
Addressing the media in Karimnagar on Saturday, she said that Telangana Jagruthi will become the voice of people and steadfastly work to resolve people’s issues. “We will work towards achieving Samajika Telangana and an enhanced quota for Backward Classes (BCs) in local bodies,” she asserted.
She said, “All major political parties are busy campaigning in the Jubilee Hills bypoll. The problems of Montha cyclone-hit farmers in the State and denizens of the rain-ravaged Warangal have remained unattended.”
“Both the parties have ignored the plight of the cyclone-affected farmers,” she said in an apparent reference to the BJP and BRS. “We will fight on behalf of the distressed farmers.”
“I will request the Assembly Speaker to accept my resignation to the MLC post,” she said in reply to a query. Responding to another question, she said, “The precious mineral wealth should be protected from granite mafia. The condition of roads in Manakondur and Huzurabad has turned from bad to worse. The Karimnagar-Vemulawada main road is grappling with dust pollution.”
“We will fight against the granite mafia,” she said, adding that the income from granite mining should be spent on the development of the district.
