Members of the K-pop group THE BOYZ have recently been embroiled in controversy. Specifically, member Juyeon has made the headlines repeatedly for his dating scandals with two actresses.

His company officially issued a statement and shared that legal action is going to be taken against anyone who spreads false information about the idol.

Member Juyeon has found himself at the centre of a dating scandal with two different actresses, while other members Eric and Sunwoo, along with Juyeon, have been exposed for smoking as well.The idols have also been accused of smoking and drinking alongside younger women as well, adding fuel to the fire.

Idol’s company issues statement amid ongoing controversies

On June 11, according to Koreaboo, THE BOYZ’s management agency issued an official statement, sharing that they will proceed with legal action against false information. Their statement read that “Recently, it has come to our attention that false or distorted information regarding THE BOYZ members is being maliciously spread on certain online communities and social media platforms. We recognise that the dissemination of unconfirmed content that seriously damages the reputation and character of the artists constitutes a grave illegal act.

They also continued by saying that they have been analysing ‘proof’ that is being submitted by the group’s fans to pinpoint the sources of false information. They ended their statement by saying, “There will be no leniency or settlement in this process, and we will hold all perpetrators accountable to the fullest extent of the law. We ask fans to report any related posts or information via email to help protect the rights of the artists.

Fans share mixed reactions to the statement

While a lot of fans were impressed with the company’s swift action against false information and allegations, some criticised them as well. One fan commented that “LOL, you’ll have to tell us exactly what parts are false for us to send an email,” while another mentioned that “Stop hiding behind the company and come out and speak for yourselves.”
