As Diwali festivities end, Mumbai is engulfed in a thick layer of smog. The visibility in several areas is minimal. As per official data, the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) in Mumbai deteriorated significantly, plummeting to 300 and entering the ‘poor’ category.

An early morning video shared by news agency ANI shows a thick smog layer in the Bandra area of the city.

Mumbai Air Quality Deteriorates

On Tuesday, unseasonal rain lashed parts of Mumbai. However, there was no significant improvement in the air quality after rain. Dadar, Bandra, Lalbaug, Powai, Byculla, Kurla, and several other areas received moderate to heavy showers.
