The Thiruvananthapuram international airport witnessed yet another hoax bomb threat, prompting security agencies to undertake a thorough screening on the premises.
According to police, the airport received the bomb threat as an e-mail late Monday. Subsequently, the airport’s Bomb Threat Assessment Committee adopted precautionary measures in coordination with security agencies.
Official sources maintained that the functioning of the airport remained unaffected.
The threat is the third targeting the airport in three months, with the previous one prompting heightened security measures as it came on the eve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the city on May 1.
