The success of iPhone 16 reflects the growing demand for premium smartphones in India which is fueled by easy financing options, trade-in programs and aggressive festive discounts. Its blend of performance, design, and camera upgrades has resonated with Indian consumers, especially those upgrading from older models.“The iPhone 16 was the highest-shipped device in India for the second consecutive quarter. There is also a rising demand from smaller cities, while the growing share of Pro models continues to push up ASPs,” Shubham Singh, research analyst, Counterpoint told ET.
Apple becomes $4 trillion company for the first time ever
Recently, Apple became the $4 trillion company for the first time ever. This milestone follows a recent surge in Apple's shares, which have climbed 25% over the past three months. The Cupertino-based tech giant is scheduled to report its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings very soon.
Apart from Apple, Nvidia and Microsoft reached the $4 trillion mark in July. Nvidia’s market value has continued to rise, reaching $4.88 trillion. In a note shared with CNBC, JPMorgan analyst Samik Chatterjee wrote: “Announcement of an increased pace of domestic investment in combination with a rapid shift in product manufacturing for the US market outside of China (India, Vietnam) has improved Apple’s positioning in the tariff landscape.”
