South Indian cinema has been on a meteoric rise, producing films that rival Bollywood in scale, success, and global reach. Along with this boom, South stars have seen their fame and fortunes soar to record heights.

Leading the pack is Telugu superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni, who has quietly built a fortune that not only makes him the richest actor in the South but also wealthier than many of Bollywood’s biggest icons.

Nagarjuna tops the rich list

Nagarjuna is currently the richest South Indian actor. As per Moneycontrol, he has a net worth of $410 million (over Rs 3572 crore), making him one of the wealthiest actors in India—ranking just behind Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla. Nagarjuna’s fortune surpasses that of Bollywood A-listers like Amitabh Bachchan (Rs 3200 crore), Hrithik Roshan (Rs 3100 crore), Salman Khan (Rs 2900 crore), Akshay Kumar (Rs 2700 crore), and Aamir Khan (Rs 1900 crore).Among South Indian actors, Nagarjuna is followed by Chiranjeevi, who has a reported net worth of Rs 1650 crore. Other wealthy stars include Ram Charan (Rs 1370 crore), Kamal Haasan (Rs 600 crore), Rajinikanth (Rs 500 crore), Jr NTR (Rs 500 crore), and Prabhas (Rs 250 crore).

Not the biggest star, but the richest

The south superstar has always been one of Telugu cinema’s most successful actors, though never considered its biggest star. For years, that title belonged to Chiranjeevi, before Prabhas and Ram Charan rose to the top.

Yet, Nagarjuna today is wealthier than all of them combined, thanks to a mix of smart business investments and family inheritance.

Businesses beyond films

His wealth doesn’t just come from films but also from his wide range of business ventures. He owns Annapurna Studios, one of the biggest production houses in Tollywood, and also runs aealty enterprises, a real estate and construction company. According to Dainik Bhaskar, the total value of his real estate holdings is around Rs 900 crore.

Nagarjuna also has stakes in three sports franchises and owns several luxury assets, including a private jet and more than half a dozen high-end cars.Nagarjuna has also enjoyed a stellar film career, headlining Telugu blockbusters like Mass, Siva, Don, and Manam, among others. He has also appeared in several Hindi films, including Khuda Gawah, Criminal, Zakhm, and more recently Brahmāstra.
