There’s a heaviness in the air at Chandni Chowk. The usual hustle and bustle of shoppers and tourists rubbing shoulders is missing; the shrill calls of street vendors have fallen silent.

The only sound that breaks the stillness now is that of sirens — police cars, not ambulances or fire trucks anymore.
But what echoes loudest along the road leading to the Red Fort are the cries of those left behind after the deadly blast that tore through the area on the night of November 10, claiming nearly a dozen lives.
