Srisailam temple management has asked the temple staff and others staying in three choultries in the temple town to vacate as the buildings have become old and are in a dilapidated state.

According to temple Executive Officer M Srinivasa Rao, the Pedda Satram, Ponnur Satram and Shiva Sadanam managed by the temple in Srisailam town have reached their building life span. Experts from Roads and Buildings and Panchayat Raj departments have assessed the buildings and have declared them unsuitable to live.

“The temple management is of the view that it is unsafe for the people to live in the rooms of these buildings and had decided to demolish them,” Mr Srinivasa Rao said on Tuesday (August 26). The EO asked those staying in these buildings to vacate them within a month and notices would also be served to those living in these buildings. The EO appealed to the residents to cooperate with the temple management and vacate the buildings.
