Three construction workers electrocuted in Gopalganj

Patna: Three construction workers were electrocuted and another suffered serious burn injuries while they were engaged in construction of a house belonging to one Naresh Yadav at Luhsi village under Uchakagaon police station area of Gopalganj district on Friday.The deceased were identified as Nasruddin Mian (55), Neeraj Kumar (30), and Baliram Singh (48) — all residents of Trilokpur village under Uchakagaon police station area. The injured worker, Jitendra Singh (35), a resident of Rajapur village, is undergoing treatment at the sadar hospital.SHO of Uchakagaon police station, Abhishek Kumar, said: “A temporary lift was installed for roof casting at the house under construction.

As four workers were ascending with construction materials, the lift accidentally came in contact with electrical wires running close to the roof shuttering. Current passed through the lift, electrocuting three of the workers.”Soon local residents rushed all the four unconscious workers to the sadar hospital, where doctors declared three of them, including contractor Nasruddin, dead. Jitendra is undergoing treatment at the hospital.“The police have initiated the process for the postmortem. Further investigation is going on,” the SHO added.
