The mangled remains of the car involved in accident near Perambalur
Trichy: Three men travelling in a car died after colliding with an oncoming truck near Perambalur on Monday.The accident occurred on the Perambalur-Thuraiyur road near the T Kalathur Branch Road in the early hours.The deceased were identified as V Shankar, 31, from Perambalur, V Vijay, 30, from Arisanantham village in Ariyalur district, and M Sakthi, 21, from Sannasinallur village in Ariyalur district. They were working as engineers in Chennai.According to sources, the three engineers had recently visited their native places and were returning to Chennai by car. While passing near a fuel station close to the T Kalathur Branch Road, their vehicle rammed an oncoming truck.The impact was so severe that the car was crushed beyond recognition. Shankar, Vijay, and Sakthi died on the spot.Perambalur rural police station personnel rushed to the spot. The bodies were recovered and sent to the Perambalur government general hospital for autopsy.The truck driver, S Jalil Basha, from Kamrpalli in Khammam district, Telangana, has been detained and is being questioned by police to determine the exact cause of the accident.Perambalur Rural Police have registered a case under Sections 281, and 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for rash driving and causing death by negligence. Further investigation is underway.
