A couple from Andhra Pradesh died in a tragic road accident when the car they were travelling in was hit by a speeding lorry at Konijerla on the Khammam-Thallada highway in Khammam district early on Monday.
The deceased were identified as U. Veeraju (46), and his wife Veerashailaja (36), natives of Angara village in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.
They were travelling to Hyderabad along with their 15-year-old son when the accident occurred. The boy suffered a leg injury.
The lorry driver sustained grievous injuries under the impact of the collision. Both the injured were shifted to a hospital in Khammam.
In a separate incident, a lorry cleaner was killed when the lorry overturned on a causeway at Vengannapeta village in Thallada mandal around Sunday midnight.
The victim was identified as Bodeshwara Rao (33), a resident of Andhra Pradesh’s Anakapalli.
