Three men rape college student near Coimbatore airport

A college student from a private institution was allegedly raped by three men in a deserted area near Coimbatore International Airport late on Sunday (November 2, 2025).

The police have launched extensive searches for the trio, who assaulted the student after attacking her boyfriend.

According to preliminary findings, the three men confronted the student and her boyfriend, who were sitting inside a car, around 11 p.m. on a deserted plot of land near Brindhavan Nagar-SIHS Colony Road.

They broke one of the glass windows with a stone and opened the car door. The trio attacked the man, before taking her to a deserted place and assaulting her, police sources said.

The police got to know about the incident after being alerted by the man, following which searches were carried out in the locality. The police found the college student a few hours later in a deserted area. She was admitted to a private hospital and her boyfriend was admitted to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.

Senior police officers inspected the scene of the crime in the early hours of Monday (November 3) and formed seven special teams to nab the suspects.
