Three officials suspended for issuing fake patta, taking ₹14L bribe

Gopalapuram mandal Deputy Tahsildar S. Krishna and Village Revenue Assistants G. Manohar and P. Nani were suspended for issuing fake patta to an ex-serviceman of Indian Army by tampering the revenue records in East Godavari district. 

In an official release issued on Tuesday, District Collector P. Prasanthi said: “The three officials have been found to be involved in a scandal, in which they issued a fake patta to an ex-serviceman by taking ₹14 lakh bribe. The land mentioned on the fake patta does not exist on the ground”.

The Collector has ordered a further probe into the incident.
